How Can We Safeguard Our Children From The Bombardment of LGBTQ Ideologies All Around Them by Shaykh ʿAwād ibn Sabtī al-ʿAnazī

Pivotal Quote

❝Subsequently, children are protected by being encouraged to adhere to good character and that this (normal relations) is from the broad aspects of good character. And that Allāh has created male and female, and made the relationship between them based on mutual love and respect, so this (married life) is sustained. Also, by opposing this affair, vile actions and sins will increase, as well as infidelity between spouses, in addition to reprehensible actions which bring upon them the Punishment of Allāh.❞

Question:

In the non-muslim countries there is a huge promotion of the LGBTQ ideology, and even though many of our families and children know that it is haram, some Muslims are becoming affected by the ideologies. We now hear many Muslim teenagers speak about toxic masculinity – a concept that belittles manhood, and feminism – that belittles the role of women in the home as a caretaker. For those who cannot make hijrah (migration to the lands of the Muslims), how can we combat this disease and protect our children who have already become affected by these ideologies and compelled to think we must accept this deviated lifestyle?

Answer:

I believe in protecting the children from an early age by raising them upon the fact that Allāh created male and female and made specific features of each respective gender. Likewise, Allāh has made this natural perfection so as for life to continue. This is the biggest refutation of these people, even if they try to beautify these repulsive actions and the filthiness of homosexuality, no matter what they may name it. Thus, we do not acknowledge these titles like ‘same sex’. Rather, they are the people who engage in homosexual acts, filthiness and sin. Even non-Muslims who are upon sound morals are sickened by these actions.

As such, children are protected by explaining to them the fact that Allāh has honoured mankind. He has honoured men and similarly, He has honoured women by bestowing upon them specific qualities and traits distinguishing them from each other. Additionally, it is explained to children that it is not possible for life to continue if the people are upon this affair (i.e. homosexuality). Also, as Muslims, the Sharʿī mandates concerning this are explained to them, just as it is explained to them that animals—even though they are animals—do not accept this action, and if another animal was to mount a female, even animals do not accept this type of behaviour.

These people are the rubbish of their societies. They have split personalities and other sicknesses they suffer from. Thus, they try to drag the people of their communities into these afflictions.

Subsequently, children are protected by being encouraged to adhere to good character and that this (normal relations) is from the broad aspects of good character. And that Allāh has created male and female, and made the relationship between them based on mutual love and respect, so this (married life) is sustained. Also, by opposing this affair, vile actions and sins will increase, as well as infidelity between spouses, in addition to reprehensible actions which bring upon them the Punishment of Allāh.

So children are discouraged from these actions from the onset and taught that this opposes the healthy, natural disposition (that Allāh created them upon). Rather, it is something that even animals find repulsive. In addition, it is explained to them that these people are sexual deviants and people of moral depravity and that it is not permissible to validate these actions, as these types of affairs are a call to sin and vice. The Muslim takes pride in his religion and his noble character. Also, it is explained to children that even (some of) the kuffār who have fallen into disbelief from the Jews and Christians do not approve of these actions and do not engage in them.
